5. The said George Arthur Woodcock undertakes to study the Chinese language written and colloquial for which purpose he will be provided with Chinese Teachers at the cost of the Government and he will be required to pass at intervals of Seven months Six Examinations by the Board of Examiners.

6. The said George Arthur Woodcock agrees to make no claim upon the Government or on the Crown Agents on account of any fluctuations in the value of the dollar.

The said Crown Agents for the Colonies shall not be in any way personally liable for anything arising out of this Agreement.
